About Me
As social media is a big part of my life, I would like to pursue this in my career path. As demonstrated in my professional work section, I have a great deal of experience in this area and would like to develop more, in the near future. I have collaborated with many companies and clients and understand what makes a strong brand identity. A few examples of my knowledge is shown in this section, but I would be delighted for experience with graphic design to build my editing and creative skills to create the best posts for social media platforms. I have taken some images and edited them as shown in the photography section but I would like to have some expertise in this area on a professional level.

I am currently studying Media and Cultural studies (Masters) at Birmingham City University and studied English and Media at undergrad level at the same university. These are my two main interests that I am passionate about, both at university and as a hobby. I enjoy writing short novels; reading non-fiction books and creating poems in my spare time. I also have a great interest in social media and creating content on photo editing softwares. I use a range of sites, including, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter, TikTok and more. Both subjects allow me to use my freedom and creativity to create blogs, by creating the website, writing posts, and creating visually appealing content to post on there. I also have my own personal blog that I will be adding more content to.

I have learnt a great deal about both subjects as I have been studying them since GCSE’s. I have analysed work, such as adverts and understand why producers use certain colours, forms, languages, fonts and much more. I have taken this knowledge into placements that I have undergone, to increase popularity on media platforms, gaining more followers which boosted profits slightly. Also, within my first year of university I have learnt new skills such as basic radio skills in my radio workshop which I attended. I learnt how to use faders, set the volume of my voice, embed music and then upload the content, and edit parts out, such as pauses, which was fascinating. I also enjoy music, I use Spotify; listen to the radio and watch TV music channels on a daily basis as well as play my violin in my spare time, therefore having the opportunity to do a radio workshop was exciting for me.

I was also a participant in Miss Birmingham 2016, which was an interesting experience as it required a lot of hard work, although it was fun to model different outfits, I had to create one of the outfits for the eco round from scratch. As well as this I had to raise as much money as possible for the charity ‘Beauty with a Purpose’, which was rewarding to see the total amount raised. On a whole, this gave me a lot of confidence and is something that I am extremely proud of.
I have also participated in many roles in my school life, I have been a school council representative and prefect twice, this allowed me to have an active role in school, to partake in many opportunities such as leading assemblies and participating in meetings, which has built my confidence and made me determined to work well for both myself and the peers around me. I have also been deputy head girl and I have had various meetings with the head teacher, which involved strategic planning and processes in my life while being at school. Not only this, but in university I have been a student ambassador on open days, which was a great feeling helping people take their next steps into university.

Lastly, having worked at McDonalds I am able to be efficient, quick and helpful as well as being able to deliver food to a good standard. I enjoyed working there every weekend and would do my best for customers, especially regulars. Moreover, working in retail has given me a lot of confidence whereby I’ve spoken to a lot of customers, some of whom may need a lot of assisted time and some who have been irritable towards me. However despite this I believe that I have the skills to work with people and be an asset to the roles I do. I have also completed all 4 stars, which include, Service, Cleanliness, and Operational Excellence. With this experience I believe that I have gained a wide range of skills to help me progress with any type of work in the future. I am determined to learn and make the most of every situation to do my job to the best of my ability.
